If you haven’t been personally affected by cancer, it’s hard to grasp the full extent of the turmoil it causes. That’s why I teamed up with #TonyFoundation whose mission is to ease the financial burden of cancer by providing unrestricted $5,000 cash grants to families, so they can use the funds however & whenever the need is most felt. This past weekend’s #PickleballTournament at Ants Beer Cave will help make that gift a reality for 1 local cancer family in need!!
HUGE THANKS
to these businesses who saw an opportunity to make this event even more impactful:

• Volair Pickleball for providing tournament balls, a high-performance paddle to raffle, and awesome banners, that helped bring this event to life

• #BlueGardeniaBoutique, a women-owned giftshop off Slaughter Lane, for their generosity and stylish pickleball-inspired raffle items
• #BartonSpringsCarWash for an incredible $2,500 in raffle prizes!! Thank you, Javi & Jay!!
• @Bobbi & Asanka Jayasuriya for a surprise, VERY GENEROUS donation, that lifted the huge fundraising weight off my shoulders just days before the event
• @KendraScott for always supporting women, community and local Austin ventures.
• April Alejandro & family for supplying fun, female swag & prizes!

But this tournament wasn’t just about pickleball & gifts, it was about showing up for our cancer community at large, and that’s what we did —raising $3,500 collectively in player participation fees, donations and sponsorships!
Thank you Tony Foundation, Scott Patterson & volunteer crew for attending the all-afternoon event
(not having a clue about this fanatical sport) & for letting me run with the tournament entirely!!!

Peace, Love & Pickleball,
-Shelby
